Nestled on a small island off the northwest coast of Baffin Island, Igloolik is Canada’s oldest arctic community. It still remains one of the most traditional communities in the Inuit world. Inuktitut, Igloolik’s native language, is still widely spoken and the region is rich in culture.
Marine mammals are in abundance throughout the icy waters of the Foxe Basin. This unique wildlife viewing tour will provide the opportunity to see Atlantic walrus, bowhead whales, bearded seals and a variety of bird species.
Your base camp is located on the water’s edge of Igloolik Point, and fully guided boat expeditions are provided daily. As you navigate through the ice floes in search of wildlife, you may be lucky enough to spot the magnificent polar bear roaming the Canadian Arctic.
