The Arctic Odyssey is our most
far-reaching tour of the arctic region of
Canada. From the new territory of Nunavut
to the Alaskan Inside Passage, this
exclusive program will let you examine the
cultures, history and extraordinary beauty of
the region.
Day 1: Morning departure from Ottawa to Iqaluit, capital of Nunavut, located on Baffin Island. Day 2: In the late afternoon the journey continues west to Yellowknife - the capital of the Northwest Territories. Day 3: Today you'll learn about the colourful history of Yellowknife on a guided walking tour of the "Old Town". Day 4: A full day to explore this vibrant community before your floatplane will take you out to the remote lodge at Blachford Lake. Day 5: A full day to enjoy the serenity of this idyllic spot and your comfortable accommodation. Day 6: You will return to Yellowknife in the afternoon, and have the chance to head into the "Old Town" for your dinner this evening. Day 7: The odyssey continues today as you will fly over the mountains from Yellowknife to Whitehorse, in the Yukon Territory, where you will stay for two nights. Day 8: A full day tour, to complete the journey from "sea to shining sea" - by coach and rail to Skagway and back. Day 9: The final morning in the north and in the afternoon, a return flight to Yellowknife and on to Edmonton where you will overnight. Day 10: Depart for your hometown. |
